5 Good reasons to study with EMANZ

With the industry expertise within EMANZ and the infrastructure of a major tertiary education provider – we are set to forge a partnership with you and the rest of the sector to ensure that we can provide a sustainable tertiary education provider for emergency the long haul.

1. Quality
We are committed to providing quality in all aspects of our training. From our tutors who are all qualified in the fields they instruct, many of whom have considerable operational experience in CDEM specific events at both local and central government level - simply we only use tutors that have real front line emergency management experience. All of our programmes are approved by the Tai Poutini Academic Board and are monitored through the Polytechnic's Quality Management System and also by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

2. Customised

You will find our certificate very flexible, we ensure minimum standards such as the RAPIDTM core subjects are exceed while allowing you to pick practical group courses appropriate to your group needs and provide students a wide range of individually chosen distance units to complete their tertiary level certificate. We deliver the practical group courses in your group area to ensure students become familiar with local resources, procedures and systems.

3. Cost Effective
The value of each certificate programme (based on 15 students) is typically over $25,000 and we provide it to you for a fraction of this, subject to our terms and conditions. You simply will not find a better deal than this, and its not just money you save, it's time too.

4. Support
Tai Poutini Polytechnic students have the support of a major institution, including access to distance education tutors through our 0800 free phone and email, a distance study library , independent student support officers if students are experiencing any study problems and a free post service to return your assessment activities.

5. Competency
We support CDEM Groups to have competently trained personnel which meet their requirements under the CDEM Act 2002. We ensure employers have a stake hold in determining the competency of students with many of the courses requiring the students to demonstrate their ability to apply new knowledge after the course in naturally occurring training sessions or actual operations to their supervisor. This means employers have an opportunity to see their personnel grow and have confidence in their ability before an incident strikes.
