Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions are negotiable; however any deviation from the following may incur additional fees.
What we (EMANZ) provide:
- A commitment to deliver quality training programmes.
- Assistance with choosing your Short Award or Certifi cate electives based on your organisation’s risks and needs.
- Course delivery by professional, experienced and qualifi ed tutors in any major town, or city in New Zealand, or the Chatham Islands.
- Tutor travel, accommodation and expenses (unless otherwise stated in the quote).
- Student notes and assessment workbooks.
- 0800 free phone for students to access distance education tutors.
- Free post service for the return of assessment activities.
- NZQA credit reporting fees.
- Distance library support for students.
- Learner progress reports, available on request.
What the Host organisation provide:
- A commitment to support staff and/or volunteers to complete their Short Awards within one year, Certificate in Emergency Management (Level 2) within two years, or Certifi cate in Emergency Management (Level 4) within three years from the date of enrolment.
- A minimum number of students as stated on the quote, organisations may work together to achieve minimum numbers if required.
- A contact person to assist with course organisation.
- Suitable training venue(s) ensuring students become familiar with local facilities, procedures and resources.
- Whiteboards, projectors and speakers if required.
- Protective clothing and equipment for students.
- Course specific resources as required (such as radios, rescue equipment, vehicles, welfare kits, EOC, computers, sand bags etc) and as outlined in our host guide which is available on request.
- Copies of local procedures and plans as required.
- Completed enrolment forms including notary certifi ed copies of identity if not previously enrolled with Tai Poutini Polytechnic.
- Post course training opportunities for students including local sign off of assessment activities if required.
- Ensure supplied pre-course information is passed on to students.
Other Terms & Conditions:
- Where notary certifi ed copies of identity do not accompany enrolment forms, you will be charged for each birth certifi cate ($26 incl GST).
- Quotes do not include student transportation, accommodation or meals unless stated otherwise.
- National Certifi cate and ITO Industry Certifi cate fees are not included in quotes.
- USAR Orange Card fees are not included quotes.
- In order to eligible for subsidised courses, students must be a NZ Citizen, or Resident, or Australian Citizen resident in New Zealand and eligible for Tertiary Education Commission EFTS funding, otherwise enrolment fees will be at the commercial rate.
- Only NZ Citizen, or Resident, or Australian Citizen resident in New Zealand who provide documentation will be counted towards minimum numbers for subsidised courses.
- EMANZ reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course where the number of students confirmed to attend the course is less than the minimum number specifi ed in this quote. In this instance a “course cancellation” fee of $500+GST will be charged to cover our administrative overheads relating to the course.
- Local and unit standard levels, credits, and identifi ers are subject to change without notification.
- Programmes are subject to change.
- Programmes are subject to suffi cient tertiary education funding being available.
- All students need to be at least 16 yeas of age.
- Students must be over the age of 18 years for any Rescue 3 International course.
- Secondary School students wishing to study part time must obtain a letter of support from their High School prior to enrolment.
- EMANZ/Tai Poutini Polytechnic reserve the right to use programme activities, photographs and video footage for marketing purposes.
- Unpaid invoices may be forwarded to debt collection agency and the client is responsible for any associated debt collection costs.
