Standard:EMD23 – Use evidence to develop technical practice in swiftwater rescue for teaching purposes (Level 6, Credits 15, Version 1)
Purpose:This standard is intended for people who have completed the requirements of the Rescue 3 International Instructor: Water (or equivalent) certification who would like the opportunity to apply knowledge gained through independent research to their technical and teaching practice in swiftwater rescue.

People credited with this standard are able to: interpret relevant legislation, technical standards, guidelines and manufacturer's specifications that apply to swiftwater rescue; critically analyse scientific test processes used in swiftwater rescue and analyse resulting data; critically analyse non-scientific, evidence-based information related to a swiftwater incident; and apply new knowledge gained through interpretation and critical analysis of information to own technical and teaching practice.
